About the Position
The Technology and Digital Education Coordinator is responsible for leading and overseeing instructional programs in Fabrication Technology and Apple Technology. This role includes curriculum design and refinement, student learning assessment, and program expansion aimed at engaging adult learners. The Coordinator will also mentor and train undergraduate students across various fabrication technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead Instruction: Conduct classes and workshops on Fabrication Technology and Apple Technology in the Workplace for adult learners.
- Curriculum Development: Design and develop a comprehensive curriculum for new courses, ensuring alignment with industry standards and learner needs. Develop training guides that will be used to train Fabrication Technology Interns.
- Student Assessment: Monitor and evaluate student performance through assessments, offering constructive feedback and targeted support to enhance learning outcomes.
- Audience Expansion: Implement outreach strategies to attract and engage a broader audience of adult learners, expanding the visibility and impact of educational offerings.
- Training and Mentorship: Work closely with undergraduate students and STEM instructors to provide training in fabrication technologies such as 3D printing, vinyl cutting, laser cutting, CNC machining, and more. This includes developing clear, detailed instructional guides that support effective teaching and operation of these machines and their related software in the Fab Lab. Additionally, lead training sessions for both students and instructors, ensuring they gain proficiency and can use the technology effectively and safely.
- Program Management: Manage the day-to-day administration of educational programs, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining a high standard of instruction and service.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Technology, or a related STEM field.
- Experience in teaching or training in technology-related subjects.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication technologies and Apple technologies.
- Excellent curriculum development and instructional skills.
- Ability to assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Proficient in common desktop applications (web browsing, Office, image editing, etc.).
- Strong general management, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills, technical knowledge, a strong attention to detail, and a highly developed customer relations attitude and competencies.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment; demonstrated flexibility, initiative, and collegiality.
