About the Position
Under the strategic direction of the Associate Director of Admissions & Recruitment, the Admissions & Recruitment LAUSD Coordinator leads targeted recruitment and yield initiatives for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) – Region South. This role plays a vital part in cultivating strong relationships with students, families, and school communities, while also partnering closely with the Center for Innovation in STEM Education (CISE) to amplify outreach and engagement efforts. Core Responsibilities The incumbent serves as a primary liaison to prospective LAUSD students and their support networks, delivering comprehensive guidance on the admissions process and enrollment pathways at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH).
Engagements are conducted through both one-on-one counseling and dynamic group presentations. The Coordinator is charged with designing, executing, and assessing a wide range of recruitment strategies and student support activities, including: • Conducting transcript evaluations and individualized admissions advising • Hosting workshops, seminars, and participating in college fairs • Coordinating and leading campus visits for students from partner high schools In addition, the Coordinator spearheads the development and recommendation of innovative programming to assess college readiness and ease the transition into post-secondary education. These initiatives are instrumental in strengthening the educational pipeline from LAUSD schools to CSUDH.
Position Information
Employment at Toro Auxiliary Partners is on an at-will basis. It can be terminated by either an employee or Toro Auxiliary Partners at any time with or without cause or advanced notice. Permanent status can neither be obtained nor granted. This position is full-time, salary-exempt, benefited, plus employer-sponsored health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, and sick/vacation pay.
This is a full-time, benefited, onsite position.
Hourly Rate: $28.00 - $32.00 DOE

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Primary Liaison for LAUSD–Region South Initiatives: Serves as the lead representative for California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) in implementing the Admissions & Recruitment Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) – Region South. Ensures all outreach and recruitment strategies are aligned with CSUDH’s strategic priorities and institutional mission to advance educational equity and access.
- Comprehensive Admissions Advising: Provides end-to-end support for LAUSD students, guiding them from initial inquiry through successful enrollment. Advises on admissions requirements, financial aid procedures, and eligibility for specialized programs and services, ensuring prospective students and families receive accurate and holistic information to make informed decisions.
- Targeted School-Based Recruitment: Plans, schedules, and executes recruitment visits to all LAUSD Region South high schools. Serves as the university’s ambassador at high-impact outreach events, including college fairs, college nights, transfer days, and other community-based recruitment programs.
- Presentations and Public Engagement: Designs and delivers engaging and culturally relevant presentations at high schools, community venues, and partner institutions. Represents CSUDH with professionalism and enthusiasm, fostering strong connections with students, educators, and community stakeholders.
- On-Site Advising and Admissions Support: Offers in-person advising to prospective students at school sites and community events. Services include transcript evaluations, review of A-G subject and transfer requirements, and personalized assistance with admission procedures. Conducts individual and group advising, hosts application workshops, and leads CSUDH information sessions tailored to high school and transfer student populations.
- Campus Engagement Coordination Organizes and facilitates on-campus visits for students from LAUSD Region South partner schools. Works in collaboration with campus stakeholders to ensure that visit experiences are informative, welcoming, and aligned with the university’s commitment to student success and outreach. Serves as the primary liaison for California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) in support of the Admissions & Recruitment Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) – Region South, ensuring alignment with the university’s strategic plan

- In partnership with the Center for Innovation in STEM Education (CISE) and in direct alignment with California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) 's strategic vision, this role plays a pivotal part in advancing educational equity and positioning CSUDH as a national model for sustainable innovation in K–16 STEM education, specifically within LAUSD Region South.
- The coordinator leads efforts to strengthen and expand institutional partnerships with LAUSD high schools by promoting immersive, hands-on applications of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Through intentional collaboration with educators and district leaders, the role supports the integration of Project-Based Learning (PBL) methodologies that cultivate 21st-century skills, including critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- These initiatives are designed not only to prepare students to navigate and solve complex, real-world challenges but also to foster inclusive learning environments that reflect the diversity of the communities CSUDH serves. By doing so, this position elevates the university’s leadership in transformative, equity-driven STEM education and reinforces its commitment to student success across the K–16 pipeline. In collaboration with the Center for Innovation in STEM Education (CISE) and in alignment with the strategic goals of California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), this role supports efforts to promote equity and serve as a model for sustainable innovation in K–16 STEM education with LAUSD Region South.

- Leads the development and delivery of timely, accurate, and actionable data reports that capture the full scope and effectiveness of recruitment, outreach, and student support services across LAUSD Region South. Provides strategic insights and performance metrics to CSUDH leadership and relevant stakeholders, enabling data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement. Ensures transparency, accountability, and alignment with institutional goals through consistent monitoring and evidence-based reporting.

Education and Experience
Education: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field, including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where such are job-related.
Experience: The equivalent of three (3) years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience. One year in the program area to which assigned may be preferred but is not required.
A master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling.
Preferred Qualifications and/or Specialized Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of CSUDH enrollment policies as well as admission requirements for incoming first-year students, including Freshmen and Transfer. Working knowledge of student services programs.
Ability to: Provide exceptional customer service to all constituents, exceptional communication skills, plan and coordinate EAP events. Manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with constituents.
Knowledge of: Enrollment Market Platform (EMP) and PeopleSoft, CSU admission and enrollment standards, CSU Recruitment experience
Skills in: public speaking, communicating effectively in writing
