About the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP)

The Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP) at CSU Dominguez Hills oversees pre- and post-award operations, supporting faculty and staff in securing and managing extramural funding for research, scholarly, and creative activities. Working closely with CSUDH Toro Auxiliary Partners (TAP), OSRP ensures compliance and financial oversight throughout the lifecycle of funded projects.

Position Summary
The Post-Award Analyst II plays a critical role in post-award research administration, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the fiscal integrity and compliance of grants and contracts. This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of sponsored projects, ensuring they adhere to Uniform Guidance, CSU policies, contractual obligations, and other applicable regulations.

The Post-Award Analyst II will collaborate closely with Principal Investigators, colleges, and departments, building strong relationships to support the successful administration of research funding. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and regulatory compliance, coupled with excellent analytical and communication skills to ensure accurate financial management and reporting.

Annual Salary: $68,640.00 - 80,000.00 (Depends on experience and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities

1. Grants Management

  • Set up and close out grant awards in accordance with grant requirements and policies.
  • Process invoicing and draw downs of funds from sponsors per award terms.
  • Authorize expenses within approved limits and oversee payroll approvals.
  • Monitor budgets, track expenditures, and perform budget projections and analysis.
  • Prepare journal entries to correct ledger items and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Generate financial reports for sponsors.
  • Draft and process sub-awards, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
  • Monitor sub-awards for compliance and financial accountability.

2. Customer Service & Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for PIs regarding post-award administration.
  • Provide guidance on grant policies, procedures, and financial management.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to grant administration.
  • Coordinate with university units, including colleges and departments, to support grant management.

3. Compliance & Reporting

  • Review and interpret grant award requirements to ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal Uniform Guidance, sponsor terms, CSU policies, and institutional requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in financial systems and department files.

4. Other Duties

  • Assist with audits and respond to sponsor requests.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Research Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in post-award grant and contract administration in a university setting.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and Uniform Guidance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Department of Education Funding.
  • Experience with contracts and private funding.
  • Knowledge of CSU Sponsored Programs policies.
  • Experience using Finance Enterprise.
  • CRA or CFRA Certification.
